Text Conversion

The Text Conversion Office (TCO) is the designated unit of the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) responsible for providing course materials in alternative formats to UIUC students with documented disabilities.

Students who are registered with DRES may be eligible to receive all or part of their course materials in an alternative format.

Eligibilty

A Student's Resource Facilitator (RF) must first determine that text conversion services would be an appropriate accommodation, based on a student's documentation.

After meeting with an RF, the student is then referred to the Text Conversion Office, where the policies and procedures for obtaining text conversion services are explained. Students must sign a TCO Policy and Final Format Agreement (PDF) maintaining confidentiality and copyright laws.
